The only downside to this rice cooker is the price. It is by far the most expensive on this list. But of course there is a reason for that. Zojirushi has proven time and time again that they are the king of rice cookers. When it comes to quality, consistency, and service, this is the one to choose.
If you can afford it, and you don’t want to browse any other options, this is by far the best rice cooker for meal prep.
2. Black and Decker 28 cup – Best for massive prepping
The black and decker 28 cup rice cooker is the cheapest rice cooker on this list. But it is shocking that it can cook 28 cups of rice. I am not even sure if I have ever purchased 28 cups of rice at a time before.
So if you are ready to feed an army, or you are meal prepping for multiple people, this might be your option.
However, there are some downsides that come with the black and decker 28 cup rice cooker. First of all, this is a featureless rice cooker. It is the most basic of all the rice cookers on this list. It simply has an on and off switch. There is nothing smart about this rice cooker.
But of course, that is where the savings come into play. The next downside is the size. If you live in a small place, you might want to look at more compact options.
Other than that, if you are ok with the basic options that come with the balck and decker, then this could be a great buy. At the same time, you will have to monitor this one a little bit more than all of the others on this list.

I personally have never used the Toshiba rice cooker, but those who I have talked to about it compare it to the Zojirushi. And that cannot be a bad thing!
Of course, when you look at the price comparison between the 2, the Toshiba is nearly half the price. But there are many reasons for this. Yes, the Toshiba is a great rice cooker, but you will find multiple reasons as to why it is half the price of the Zojirushi.
First of all, the capacity is only 3 cups of uncooked rice. This might actually be fine for a single person. But if you are doing any sort of extended meal prep, it might not be what you are looking for.
Another thing to consider is Toshiba is an all around electronics company. They essentially just make what everyone else is making and put their name on it. While this isn’t necessarily a bad thing, I think that it is definitely something to consider in your decision making.
Zojirushi is a brand that has a limited line of products and prides themselves in customer service and high quality products.
With that being said, the Toshiba digital rice cooker has some benefits. It is the smallest rice cooker in the bunch. Therefore if you live in a small place, this could be a great option for you. It also has similar technology to the Zojirushi, so you can guarantee that your rice comes out perfect every time.
As you can see, I have mixed feelings about this rice cooker. If you are living in a small space and don’t need massive amounts of rice, this might be the one for you. It might not be the best rice cooker for meal prep, but it isn’t a bad option.
4. Comfee 6-in-1 Rice Cooker – Best value
The comfee 6-in-1 rice cooker is in my opinion one of the best values in the rice cooker game. It might not have the incredible technology of the Zojirushi and the Toshiba, but it can stand on its own.
You have to factor in the price when you are considering this one. It is about one fourth the price of the Zojirushi and half the price of the Toshiba. The only thing that this rice cooker doesn’t have going for it is the brand.
Comfee is a relatively unknown brand that has recently made a name for themselves on Amazon.
Some great benefits is that they have the same warranty that Zojirushi does at 1 year.
My only hangup with Comfee is that you are taking a risk with the relatively unknown brand. With all of the other rice cookers on this list, they are well known in their space. If you are willing to take a gamble and can’t afford the others, this could be a good option for you.
